My teaching and personal experiences with special needs children and families have awarded me valuable insight into the importance of professional collaboration and parental involvement.  These experiences have helped me grow into an education professional who takes each student’s unique goals, interests, and needs into account when planning for instruction and the physical environment.

I have specialized training in applying ABA and PRT intervention techniques to aid children in developing both essential academic and life skills.  This summer, I was able to attend the TEACCH model training in Chapel Hill, NC and I am eager to implement the research-based methods that I learned during that training.

Education is my calling in life.  It was after witnessing how my own child is able to pursue life much differently due to the team of education professionals with whom she has been blessed that I decided to change my path in life.  I left my career as a business office supervisor at a large ophthalmology clinic in order to pursue a new career doing something much closer to my heart and personal experiences.  The families of my future students will always be involved and educated by me on how to facilitate engaged learning and advocate for their child.  As a special educator, I will empower myself with current methods of intervention and special education law.  All children deserve unbiased educations and an “awakened” sense from their schooling experience.  Each child’s uniqueness and learning abilities must be celebrated and fostered to promote them in reaching their highest potential.

I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss how my experience and skills would serve as an asset to your facility..
